How Caxta Works

Local Storage Only

All your expense data, including amounts, categories, notes, photos, and location information, is stored exclusively on your device. We have no access to this information.

Location Services

When you grant location permission, Caxta uses your device's GPS to tag expenses with location data. This information:

• Is stored only on your device
• Is never transmitted to our servers
• Can be disabled at any time in your device settings
• Is used solely to help you track where expenses occurred

Camera and Photos

When you photograph receipts:

• Images are stored only on your device
• No image processing occurs on external servers
• Photos remain completely private to you

Permissions Explained

Location Permission

Used to tag expenses with location data for your personal tracking and map visualization. Optional and can be denied.

Camera Permission

Used to photograph receipts. Optional and only activated when you choose to add a photo.

Storage Permission

Used to save your expense data and receipt photos on your device.

Data Security

Your data security is ensured through:

• Local-only storage using your device's built-in security
• No network transmission of personal data
• No external database or cloud storage
• Protection by your device's lock screen and encryption

Data Deletion

You have complete control over your data:

• Delete individual expenses at any time
• Clear all data through the app settings
• Uninstalling the app removes all associated data

Updates to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will notify users through the app. The "Last Updated" date will always reflect the most recent version.

Children's Privacy

Caxta does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Since we don't collect any personal information from any users, children's privacy is inherently protected.

International Users

Since Caxta doesn't collect or transmit data, there are no international data transfer concerns. Your data stays on your device regardless of your location.

Third-Party Services

Caxta uses minimal third-party services:

• Map Display: Map tiles may be loaded from map providers when viewing the expense map. These providers may collect anonymous usage data according to their own privacy policies.
• App Stores: Downloaded through Apple App Store or Google Play Store, which have their own privacy policies.
